SEARCH PROCESS OVERVIEW
We take pride in knowing our candidates and maintaining current connections with the most qualified individuals in the club management profession.
Step One
Determining Needs
During our initial consultation visit, MCA meets with the Club's Selection Committee to learn about the club and its requirements. We probe to get a feel for the club's culture, member profile, organization and facilities. We spend time with the Club's management staff gaining impressions and observing the operation. Each club is unique and this first step is a critical component to a successful match.
Step Two
Creating a Position Specification and Club Profile
The Position Specification and Club Profile are important documents. Once approved by the client, they serve as benchmarks and marketing documents throughout the search process. The Position Specification identifies preferred personal traits of the candidate, defines required competencies, explains duties, outlines reporting relationships and sets forth expectations of the position. The Club Profile describes the club and its facilities.
Step Three
Candidate Procurement
We seek out the best-qualified candidates, those individuals that will also fit into the club's culture. Using our extensive contacts in the private club community, as well as our personal knowledge and a review of our database, our candidate lists are invariably very well received by earch committees.
Step Four
Screening Process
Our unique Screening Process eliminates frustration and expense. That is why we conduct extensive research to ensure that we recommend only viable candidates. References are checked for each candidate, educational degrees are verified and each candidate is required to successfully complete our signature: Candidate's Strength Analysis. The Candidate's Strength Analysis helps to measure competence in four specific disciplines.
Step Five
Candidate Introduction
Our candidate presentation to the Search Committee provides unusual depth and insights based on each partner's independent evaluations along with resume summaries, reference comments and current compensation packages.
Step Six
Interviews
In preparation for the interview process, the candidate is given our briefing materials as well as a tour of the facilities. The Selection Committee is prepared with a script of suggested interview questions and pertinent information on each candidate. Sometimes a single round of interviews produces the appropriate choice and sometimes a second round is necessary with a reduced field.
Step Seven
Extending the Offer
Once the final candidate is identified, MCA will assist the Club in structuring a compensation package and help with the negotiations. MCA’s role as facilitator ensures that a solid relationship is established. If there is any hesitation in accepting the offer, we help resolve conflicts and negotiate terms acceptable to both parties. Upon agreement, we maintain contact to assure a smooth transition.
Step Eight
Follow-up
Our normal practice is to check back periodically with the client and successful candidate to ensure things are progressing as anticipated. We offer an unconditional one-year guarantee on our placements.
