Meet the Partners - Gary Collins

Gary Collins, CCM, CCE, CAM has been engaged in the private club, resort, and golf business for more than 25 years. With his diverse background comes an accurate and intuitive understanding of the broad realm talent necessary to operate today’s clubs and engage their memberships. Before joining the firm on a full-time basis, Gary spent the past ten years as the General Manager of Frenchman’s Reserve Country Club, a prestigious gated-community club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Gary was selected as Business Man of the Year in 1998 by the Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce while serving as the President and General Manager of a club and resort. He served as a Vice President with LACCO Ltd., which owned Riviera Country Club, The Downtown Los Angeles Athletic Club, and The California Yacht Club. During LACCO’s ownership, Riviera hosted 29 PGA events, including the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship. Gary also served as President of Dye Club Management, operating clubs in both Colorado and Illinois working with world-renowned golf course architect Perry Dye. He has experience with PGA, LPGA, and Nike tour events. Gary worked for more than ten years for CCA, the largest company in the private club business, and was awarded Club Manager of the Year in 1981 within the CCA group of clubs. Gary is an honors graduate of both Texas A&M University and The University of Texas, and has completed postgraduate work at Michigan State School of Hotel & Restaurant Management and the Hotel School of Cornell University.

Most recently, Gary was the recipient of the 2012 Jay DiPietro Most Valuable Member Award from the Florida Chapter of CMAA. Gary’s “better half,” Jan Bel Jan, ASGCA, is a golf course architect, registered landscape architect, certified arborist, and former assistant golf course superintendent. She has a very unique outlook on the playability, strategy, ecology, and economics of golf courses. In December 2000 and February 2005, Jan was named “One of the Ten Most Influential Women in the Game of Golf” by Sports Illustrated Plus.

Gary’s primary focus is on General Manager/CEO/COO placement and consulting assignments, as well as Golf Professional and Golf Course Superintendent Placement Services for Clubs.
